Chiaroscuro - Cutscenes and Characters (GMS)

- Chiaroscuro's storytelling style is meant to help guide the player while bringing life to the companions you meet along the way. Each side character plays their part in assisting the player, with plenty of hidden lore for them if you look hard enough. Some characters will have varying responses based on how you reply to them or how you often interact with them throughout the plot.

- In addition, with many of the instances of story progression, I let the player wander until they reach their destination through a lot of implicit gameplay. This way, they can familiarize themself with the world while having the game encourage exploration. Finally, to ensure progress, I utilize clues and level design elements to leave a breadcrumb trail in the direction I want the player to go while offering optional alternatives to help elevate their experience.
